About Battle-O-Entrepreneurs

This is a Debate Battle-O-Entrepreneurs where participants will engage in thought-provoking discussions on startup and entrepreneurship-related topics. The event aims to develop critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills, while encouraging students to explore diverse perspectives on business, innovation, and startup culture.

The debate will not only test knowledge, but also presentation, persuasion, and the ability to handle counter-arguments with confidence and respect.

Competition Format

  • Team Formation – Participants can register individually or in pairs (team of 2).
  • Topic Allocation – Topics will be based on startups, entrepreneurship, business, and innovation.
  • Rounds –
  • Round 1: Elimination (short debates, 3–4 min per participant).
  • Round 2: Semi-Final (longer structured debate, rebuttals included).
  • Round 3: Final (judges’ questions + open floor debate).

Judging Criteria

  • Content Knowledge – Relevance & depth of arguments.
  • Presentation – Clarity, body language, confidence.
  • Persuasiveness – Ability to convince and influence.
  • Rebuttals – Handling counter-arguments logically & respectfully.
  • Time Management – Speaking within the given time.

Disqualification Rules

  • Use abusive, offensive, or disrespectful language.
  • Show aggressive or disrespectful behavior towards opponents/judges.
  • Exceed time limits despite repeated warnings.
  • Interrupt excessively or break debate discipline.
  • Plagiarize content or copy arguments from external sources.
